While Mandala Resort feels far away from the bustle of life and while you may see more stars than you can imagine (since there's virtually no light polution), the island is actually only 25-30 minutes from the Vava'u domestic airport, making even early morning transfers quick and easy.

 

On your way here, our van driver will greet you at the domestic airport in Vava'u and take you through local villages on the 15-minute drive to the Houmelei Old Harbour. There you'll meet the boat driver who will whisk you away on the 10-minute boat ride from the main island of Vava'u for your private island holiday.

RATES

– ROOM RATES INCLUDE Basic WiFi access, daily housekeeping, organic biodegradable homemade toiletries, fresh linens every 3-days, local concierge, drinking rain water, and 15% Consumption Tax. Complimentary use of snorkel gear, short wet suits, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards around the island. After dinner beach bonfires, weather permitting.

– ROOM RATES EXCLUDE Flights, airport and town transfers, tours, drinks, alcohol, bottled water, laundry service, office services, WiFi for uploading and downloading photos and videos, massage, Yoga, credit card and bank fees.

 

TOUR BOOKINGS

We offer a complimentary booking service for a range of tours and activities, both hosted by the resort and offered by other operators.

Please let us know what activities you are interested in at the time of booking so we may ensure seats are available for you.

Tour bookings are confirmed with a 20% non-refundable deposit and the balance is due and non-refundable 45-days prior to tour date.

 

POLICIES

– We accept bookings for a minimum of 3 nights. Fewer nights may be approved by Management.

– Check in 2 pm, check out 10 am. Guests are welcome to arrive earlier or stay later and lounge on the beach to suit travel itineraries. If the room is not expecting a same day check in, Guests may enjoy a late check out by advance arrangement.

– June through October a Sunday check out incurs an AUD 100 per room fee.

– We accept children over 12 years of age.

– Guests should notify us of any and all food allergies or dietary requirements at the time of booking.

– Guests should notify us of their flight and/or alternate accommodation itineraries at least 72-hours in advance of check in.

– Groups and extended stays are subject to special terms and conditions, specified at the time of booking.

BOOKING AND PAYMENT POLICIES

– A non-refundable and non-transferable 25% deposit of the total invoice is due to confirm booking.

– Deposits can be paid by local deposit to our bank account, Visa or MasterCard in TOP (4.167% fee) and International Bank Wire Transfer (TOP 20 incoming wire fee plus your outgoing wire fees). All currencies are exchanged using local Tongan bank exchange rates. Please note that Guests must cover all credit card, bank service and transfer fees.

– Balance is non-refundable 90- days prior to check in.

– Balance is payable in full 90- days prior to check in.

– Timely payments are the Guest’s responsibility. Reservations not adhering to policy will be canceled without notice or refund.

– Any incidental charges incurred during Guest's stay can be paid upon departure with cash or credit card. We accept TOP/USD/AUD/NZD cash currencies and change is given in TOP. Visa and MasterCard in TOP (4.167% fee).

– Groups and extended stays are subject to special terms and conditions, specified at the time of booking.

– By confirming Terms, you agree to hold harmless and waive all claims of liability to Fetoko Adventures, Ltd., aka Mandala Resort and all of it's agents, shareholders, employees and associates.

– By paying your deposit and confirming your booking, you are confirming all Terms.

CANCELLATION POLICY –  We enjoy being off-the-beaten-path here in Vava'u, but we have a very short "high-season" and therefore require a strict cancellation policy in order to remain sustainable. We appreciate your understanding.

– Cancellations more than 91 days prior to check in forfeit the 25% deposit

– Cancellations 90 or fewer days of check in and no-shows forfeit 100% of the invoice. Agents are responsible for completing the booking.

– Cancellation policy applies to situations beyond your/our control, including but not limited to ill health, inclement weather, airline strikes, flight cancellations/delays, etc. 

– Bookings may be transferred, minus the 25% booking deposit.

– Groups and extended stays are subject to special terms and conditions, specified at the time of booking.

– All cancellations must be notified in writing by email. Credit card and bank service fees are applicable to cancellation of any reservation.

– Mandala Resort is not responsible for scheduled flight, ferry or any third party transportation cancellations. Appropriate travel accident and cancellation insurance is recommended.

PRIVACY POLICY

We have a strict policy of keeping your information private and that means between you, owners and managers of Mandala Resort, appropriate third party tour and flight operators, respective communication servers, and our appropriate banking institutions. Within our control, we will never share or publish or sell your contact or billing information.

Twice-weekly international flights from Los Angeles, Melbourne and Sydney arrive directly into Vava'u on Fiji Airways.

 

International flights arrive into the capital Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu (TBU) with Fiji AirwaysVirgin Australia, and Air New Zealand. Direct flights from New Zealand, Australia and Fiji.

Domestic flights depart from Tongatapu (TBU) and take about 50 minutes to arrive into the Vava'u Island Group (VAV) on Real Tonga or on Fiji Airways. (To seach on Fiji Airways use the 'FLEXIBLE DATES' checked selection instead of entering your dates of travel.)

 

(Please make note of Real Tonga and Fiji Airways sports equipment and domestic baggage allowances. Real Tonga allows 23 kg of checked baggage and 7 kg carry on if you present your international boarding pass showing that you traveled within the last 24-hours. Beyond that, they may charge you an excess fee and TOP 3 per kilo over 15 kg checked baggage. If flights are full, there is a chance that excess baggage will come up on the next available flight unless you pay their 'must-ride' fee in advance.)

Ferry from Tongatapu to Vava'u once weekly. This is a 24-hour boat trip in open ocean between the islands and costs approximately AUD 180 for a business-class ticket with sleeping quarters and food.

For layovers of more than a couple hours in Nuku'alofa. Tongatapu before flying up to Vava'u, we recommend a 'Transit' status at the airport hotel where you can pay a small fee to have access to their restaurant, pool, bar, wifi, luggage storage, lobby couches, mini-golf, etc. Contact us for more information.

 

If an overnight stay is required in Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu before flying up to Vava'u, we will be happy to assist you with accommodation arrangements.
